? about SLP Loudmouth Catback

So earlier, i was browsing the 5.0 mustang magazine website and fell on LMPerformance.com

i was looking around and saw a SLP Loudmouth Cat-Back and i went bonkers when i saw the price...$299!!

I click on it and see it says this

is there a disadvantage to the system with the welded resontators? whats up with the ones that arent welded?

the new systmes are "modular" meaning you can switche between their different resonators/mufflers, and cats or O/R pipes. they use band clamps instead of welding the system together.

a resonator is basically bullet style like the LM1's and is pretty much hollow. it makes the sound louder instead of muffling it like a....muffler. yes, aftermarket mufflers like flows make our cars louder over stock, but they still muffle the sound. the resonators enhance the sound and are loud as hell. personally, ive had the LM1's with stock H, and catted X and have since switched to LM2's. i prefer the LM2's with an O/R x-pipe. its loud, similar to borla stingers and sounds better than the LM1's.

here's a pic of my old set-up. you can see i had cats and the LM1's. now i have o/r pipes and LM2's.

LMI's are damn loud.. i'd make sure you can switch resonators on that, without having to cut them out. you may not like the LMI's, they're not for everybody.

LMII's are nice tho

I had the LM1 they were to loud for me changed to the powerflo much better sound

I love the LM1's compared to other catbacks. However I attribute that to the stock H, I'm sure I might change my opinion with a new midpipe.

i have lm 1 on my 96 sounds good with stock mid pipe but dont use with an o/r sounds awful

If you are only planning on doing a catback then i say go for it. With the full exhaust that i have they are loud as hell. I personally like it, but as stated above it is not for everyone. I don't think they were overly loud with the stock h though.

Yeah man i have the same set up as you and i love it, cant get enough of it, although the neighbors have probably had enough

I have the loudmouth 1's i love the sound but I would go a little louder if I would attract unwanted attention of the police kind. I say buy it.

lm1's arent that bad when cruising. its when you get on it or drive the car hard when they get wild and out of control.
even with the o/r prochamber the sound levels have been controlable on my setup(it will be a different story if i ever throw cams on the car).

i need to make a new sound clip of me cruising and then getting on it lol

the only draw back is whats been stated ealier the newer systems are modular you can slip in the slp muffler of your choice which you cant unless you cut the pipes on the old version.

and as usual check my sig for the start up and rev sound clip
