I have a question maybe someone out there can help. On my 94 GT when I turn on my AC no matter what position it is in it always comes out as defrost. I have checked the vents to see if they are all lined up and the motors work as well. It just seems like it wont shift from defrost to AC or vent or anything else. Got any advice? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It is probably a broken vacuum hose. This happened to me yesterday. Raise the hood and look for a thin black vacuum hose running along the top of the firewall. it connects to the vacuum tree on the drivers side, it is marked A/C. It runs over to a check valve on the passenger side. I couldn't find any auto parts stores that carries the thin hard line so I replaced it with rubber Vacuum/washer pump line from Pep Boys. Worked like a charm. If that hose is not your problem, check under the dash for a cannister above the gas pedal. A line could have come off of it. Also look behind the glove box for other lines. There is also a vacuum cannister in one of the fenders, passenger I think, make sure it is in tact.

i had the same thing happen to me when i did my heater core. it was a vacuum line that came undone. mine was undone on the passenger side under the dash. its a little block that has a bunch of vacuum lines running to it. i dont know if its in the same place but you might want to check there also

Thanks

Thanks for the answers....Sure enough that was it! It was the hard plastic hose on the drivers side. Now the only thing that sux is the whole system is a mess, the seals are bad on the compressor, its leaking, and it has a bad switch.... Oh well, at least its still fast LOL.
