accel points kit

I just bought the accel points converstion kit and I want to know can I install it in the car with out removing everything?

Installing new parts almost always means removing the old parts.

If the accell kit is similar to the pertronix kit, then you'll remove the points to install the module. Have you read the instructions?

I know I need to remove the old points but do I need to remove the distruber too the instrictions call to but I want to know if I really need to?

I've never used the accel kit, but with the pertronix kit you did not have to remove distributor. The pertronix install took me less than 15 minutes and was easier to install than a replacement set of points (no dwell to set). I would expect the accel install to be similar.

did you use the stock timing settings?

I did have to reset the timing if that's what you mean.

But I used the same timing settings that I was using before the swap.
