I am looking into some AFR 165 heads and was wondering what intake they are best port matched to. I would imagine TFS or Eddie Performer. I like the looks of the GT40 the best, anyone using it with AFR's?

MOST people are using them with the Performer or the Performer RPM. Great results also.

I'm running AFR 165's, the ports matched up real nice to my extrude honed Cobra intake.

To answer your question, the stock ports of an AFR head probably line up best with the Edlebrock Performer series intakes.

That being said, you can match any intake to the ports of the AFR Head...just takes extra port work.

94-95 Cobra Intake that has the lower ported by TMoss (no, I havent sent mine yet, but I fully intend to do so!). He told me he can flow the cobra within just a couple CFM of the 165s.

Cobra/GT40/Explorer/Performer all work well stock but need some lower work to flow fully with the AFR heads. Street Heat, RPM, Track Heat, Holley don't need it like the others.

AFR reccomends an Edelbrock intake on their website. The Eddy lower is still not "perfect". Mr. Moss can fix that.

How much low end would you lose using the RPM compared to the Performer (w/o porting)? And how much hp would you gain on the top end? This is assuming you have a milder more streetable cam.

K, so which cc head (of the 165's) is best for an H/C/I combo? I am thinking of Performer (lower ported) and not sure which cam to go with. FMS E-cam?

You want the 58cc is you stay N/A. I went with the 61cc because of my wet kit.
