I have a HEI tpe distibutor in a 302 Windsor.
No idea what brand it is, see pictures for clues.

Its a bit hard to see but there is one power wire going in and an empty spade terminal beside that one marked TACH.
I am fitting an aftermarket Tachometer (in the dash cluster) and will need a feed from the distributor.
The AE I spoke to was concerned that some HEO type distributors will only work with Tachos that match (I.e MSD dist and tacho) and hooking up my new Tacho might kill it.
Anyone come across this issue before?

Hi,
If your aftermarket tach is a voltage sensing (most likely), then, there should be no death in the family.
Happy Trails....
