Hello, i'm new to these forums as im seeking advice as to the quality of aftermarket tb's for your guys cars. i'm looking to blow through (turbo) a 65mm 5.0 TB on my VW and would prefer an aftermarket TB. any feedback to which brands to steer clear of would be appreciated. saw this on Ebay. wondering if any of you knew anything
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7909150873&category=33558

i've heard mixed things about the professional products ones. i've also heard mixed things about the MAC throttle bodies. i am using a mac, and haven't had any problems.

the "best" are supposed to be accufab, but they are around twice as much as the average one at $130. i would recommend a mac, it fit good, no problems with it. i paid like $120 for it brand new also.

i have an edelbrock 70mm and it's fine.i think the older ones were bbk with edelbrock stamped on them and they had problems but the new design is supposed to be better.i've had mine for 6 months now,no problem plus mine came with a tps already installed and i believe the bbk doesn't and they'er the almost same price.

Same with mine, its a very nice piece compared to some of the other aftermarket stuff ive bought. No whistling or sticking throttle either

no 302, just the ford TB. it will be going on a 2275cc (2.3L) type 1 VW motor. fuel injected turbocharged intercooled. engine that made the 11.17 in my signature was a 1915cc (1.9L or 117ci) type 1 VW motor with 150hp nitrous.

I think I sense some sarcasm here. Nah, not on this board If he could possibly get a 2.3L to move enough air to need a 105mm TB, he'd probably be in the 6s with that car. Too much velocity loss with a TB that big.

Holley & Accufab both make some nice TBs.
