Iam am considering updating the factory air in my 69 Mustang. I am looking at the Vintage and Classic system. Does anyone have any experience with either that could make a recommendation.

hello;

ok got ya. it will not cool as well as the factory system and if you sell your car it will be worth a little less if you change it.

These after market units cool as well if not better than the 45 year old OEM units. My reason for the upgrade is this. I need a new compressor, evaporator, receiver dryer, and condenser. In addition to a new blower motor. I am also looking forward to electronic controls and no more vacume leaks. As far as originality I find this to be as valuable as rack and pinion steering .

If you are considering this upgrade look at both products Vintage and Classic. My choice is Classic for a cole of reasons. There kits fit and there plenium units are not factory sealed. So if down the road you need a new heater core just buy one and replace it. The other unit is factory sealed and must be sent back as a unit,

extensive first hand experience with both types.

the factory system also has a bigger evaporator and the fan blows more air.

since you do not have factory ac, the aftermarket one is the best option

no they do not. you have very wrong information. a properly working factory unit will blow the aftermarket ones away every time.

not to get in a arguement... but the aftermarket works better.... the refrigerant is probably easier to find and they will eventually quit making the r12... plus it(r12) is more expensive than r134a...
