I almost got ran over by a lifted Chevy Silverado yesterday, less than 4 days after I got the stang, that decided to run a red light nearly missing the Dodge Stratus in front of me and myself. Thank goodness for power disc brakes.

Does anyone else find that people don't notice you when they are driving and get really close to your rear end and nearly clip you? I didn't have this problems in my Blazer or my Civic. I fear for my poor stang. Not to mention I'll kill the person who hits my Mustang.

Damn bad drivers.

oh but sometimes you do. i was sitting in my old 70 cougar in front of the parts store i worked at in austin and some a--hole in a bimmer pulls up in the space next to me and throws open his door right into mine, it was hard enough that the it actually shook the car. so he walks in to the store and i get out and look at the really big ding in my door (it was almost a dent) and walk back around to the driver side, get in the car and reach over and unlatch the door so that it is open but only enough that it wasn't latched, then with my butt in the drivers seat and both feet on the passenger door i kick it open as hard as i can, left a dent that was almost an inch deep and about 6-8 iinches tall covered with white paint from my door on his car. then the dumba$$ comes out and gets in his car and doesn't even notice, i was so pissed that he didn't notice i almost chased him down just so i could show it to hime personaaly and close up if you catch my drift. so then i walk into the store and all the guys i work with are rolling on the floor laughing their a$$es off and saying he had it coming, the main reason he didn't notice was because they were keeping him busy in the store because they knew what was about to happen when they saw me get out of the car and get back in and unlatch the door. so sometimes you do get to see it happen and get them back for it too

The previous owner had a friend who loves horses...including the car. One day the blonde dumb a$$es were riding by the car on horses and her friend's horse kicked the door with his back hoove. If I would have seen the horse I would have shot it becuase now I have a 1 inch deep 4 inch wide dent to fix. AHHH

you know, it really was a great stress releiver especially after i got inside the store. what was really sad was the door wasn't in that great of shape to begin with but it was one more ding i was going to have to fix, but i wish i could have seen the look on his face when he saw it especially if he had seen it when he came out of the store

almost got run over by a semi at a toll booth

I was on my way back to Michigan from DC scouting my new apt. for my job as a lawyer with the Federal Gubment. I was on the Ohio Turnpike making my connection to I-75. There is a car in front of me and a large 18 wheeler behind me. The car in front of me starts to pull forward and the truck just blasts into me and pushes me right through the toll booth. The toll collector and I make eye contact as he is pushing me through and she is like WTF? I look in the mirror and he reaches out to hand her his toll ticket. She motions to me and he looks quite startled. He forgot I was there. He could see the car in front of me but not me and just pushed me right through and into the back of the car in front of me.

The Ohio State Trooper comes and takes my statement. He notes that the insurance card is expired. I explain that the car is my dad's and that he has 4 cars on one policy and that he renews the insurance on all of them at the same time and that he probably just forgot to put the new card in the car. I pull out my cell phone and offer to call AAA to verify the insurance. The guy starts calling me by my first name and asks if he runs my name through the computer, will he find anything that will "upset him." He has the most arrogant tone and attitude ever. I tell him "knock yourself out" and then inquired "Trooper, at what point was it that you and I got on a first name basis?" His woodrow is growing and then he asks me "what were you doing in DC?" "Well," I replied, "I just took a job as staff attorney with a US federal law enforcement agency and was down there signing a lease on an apartment." His woodrow and attitude deflated immediately and it was back to Mr. Surowiec. As for the car, we got a new transmission for it and a new rear bumper. But if I can testify to one thing it is that those big trucks are mighty powerful.

That's bad, I can imagine he forgot you were there though.

I know how powerful trucks are too. Trucks are what we call them, them silly 4x2s and 4x4s ain't trucks

Anyways, we have a competition here, for the longest road train pulled the furthest distance. Last I looked into it, it was a Mack Super Liner pulled 38 cattle trailers about 3 kilometres. Through a town too, he stopped because he went round a corner and near the 20th trailer he was getting too close to a power pole on the inside of the corner. Stripped first and second low-range gears, and smashed one of the diffs, but if it hadn't been for that power pole, the thing would have gone till the fuel ran out.

When my stang had paint it was like an idiot and cop magnet. Once I was driving into an intersection and I saw a MPD patrol car coming up to the intersection very fast. He had the red light and wasn't running the lights on his car or his siren, but I could tell that he was not planing on stopping so I slamed on the brakes. He finally sees me and does the same. So we are both stopped in the intersection staring at each other with our cars only a foot apart. What was really scary was the fact that I had my little sister with me and she was yelling at the officer calling him a moron and stuff for almost hitting us. I didn't want to go to jail so I made her shut up and politely waved the officer on through the intersection in front of me.

Glad you didn't get hit. Last time I got hit bad was when shaking down a blown Kaw. Vulcan 1500 I had just finished a few weeks before and got hit from behind. Woke up six weeks later. That was not a good year. Took that long to get over the breaks. I got launched and wound up under an 18 wheeler (so the report says, I was out). When the paramedics (God bless you!) got to me, my helmet split in half as they were trying to remove it. It had tire tracks on it so I guess it did its job! Not a Mustang story, but a good motorcycle story. That Vulcan was wicked fast and I was doing all of 20MPH in traffic when rear ended. The police figured the moron that hit me was doing 80. I don't ride anymore.....ouch...

(spurred on by Victor's post) Yes, there are a lot of idiots out there, too many if you ask me. What makes it a little easier for me, is just ranting constantly about how idiotic they are seriously.
