Alright Stangnet.. Help Me Out!

This upcoming saturday is the last race night of the season until next year. I am really wanting to break into the 10's in the 1000ft (not a 1/4 track anywhere near.. only 1000ft).. last week i made this pass:

.7324 - Reaction
2.026 - 60 ft
5.69 - 330 ft
8.72 - 1/8 et
82.31 - 1/8 mph
11.15 - 1000 et
93.32 - 1000 mph

Street tires, only turned the tires over a couple times pullin up to the line (possibly got into a few drops of trackbite) and had my spare tire/jack removed. I launched at 2000rpm and slipped the clutch while i slowly rolled into the gas and was full throttle by 4000rpm.

Can anybody give me any extra hints/tips to break past the 11's and into the 10's?.. i'd even be happy with a 10.999999999 lol..

I'll be using trackbite for sure this weekend, possibly putting the spare tire/jack back in.. and i may remove the front swaybar and passenger side headlight.

Any extra suggestions for launching or anything?? anything is appreciated :SNSign:

How is your launch? Even moderately skilled drivers can benefit from practicing the launch... I say do that

My launch isnt the greatest, but its a LOT better than what it used to be.. i try not to be too agressive off the line because it doesnt transfer weight for crap!! haha..

I dont get too hard on it til about 4000rpm, that's when i go balls-to-the-wall

If i can launch a bit higher and get traction I think i can get my 60ft's down quite a bit and cut that 10.9X pass.. I'll be doin that all night tryin to get my launch down.. but with trackbite, i'll get a nice help (almost like some dr's).. thanks for the advice KT

Anyone else got any valuable info?

not sure, i usually run 29psi.. what do u think i should run?

I'll have about a 1/4 tank of gas with me estimates, after the 8 hours of driving i'll be doin that day poor car lol

Depending on temperature, your pressure is going to change. Plus, allow for plenty of cool down time in between runs. You're in AR, but the fall is not that hot--that is good.
28 to 30 is good. Much higher and you'll likely have some issues. Lower will do the same to you.

I was gonna try to stay away from the rear seat delete, honestly. I know it'll help, but it's such a pita to me haha.. But i do really appreciate the advice! I guess i'll keep runnin 'em at 29psi and use some good ol' trackbite..

should i try launching at 2500 or 3000? should i dump or slip the clutch?

How many runs will you get? That depends on what launch you use and when.

i'll probably get around 9 or 10 runs, maybe more.. from 4-9 and it wont be busy.. i ran from about 7-8:45 last weekend and it made about 7 passes

increase the air pressure in your front tires high to decrease rolling resistance and lower the rear tires air pressure for traction, loosen the front sway bar, and take out the back seat

If you have them,

Take the stock 17's and put them on the rear only. That might help.

i agree

remove the front sway bar completely if you havent done so already this will save weight off the nose. then go max pressure on the front tires, lower the rear tire pressure to 20psi this will help throw weight to the rear.

drop pressure to suit you needs if 20 psi doesnt hack it. also with white shoe polish mark the rim and tire (this is to tell if the tire is slipping on the rim) which is something that can happen with too low tire pressure

and most importantly keep practicing

I'll be taking my front swaybar off for sure now and i'll have my back tires around 25psi, since they're 265/35's.. i dont have much sidewall to mess around with

take out the passenger headlight, make sure you have as little fuel as possible, loosen or take off the front sway bar, put more air in your front tires, and take out the spare and jack. If you didnt do any of this for your 11.15 run you should be in the 10s. If not you could always take out your passenger seat. What kind of tires do you have?

buy 165r15 tires from your local tire dealer put them on your 15" spare rim. but another rim and run those 40 psi.

Christmas Tree

When you stage, try to stage back as far as you can when you trip the lower light. This will give you a slight time advantage to launch sooner, because you will not trip the sensor until your tire clears. The farther up you stage, such as deep staging, will give you a better R/T, but a slightly lower E/T. If it's E/T you're going for, I'd try that. Every little bit helps. Also, I run my tires at about 22 psi and warm them up real good. Judging by your '60, you don't really seem to have an issue with your launch if you are launching on street tires. My best '60 is 2.05, good luck man.
