I have a '02 GT with the Mach 460 Sterio. About once a month for a day or so I get this bad alternator noise in the sterio. It starts randomly when I start the car, and will stop just as randomly. Only the lower front 2 speakers make the sound. So far I have checked:
All connections for the sterio in the trunk.
All connections in the dash behind the radio.
I swapped the amps to make shure one of the amps was not going bad.
Checked the connections on the altenator.
Checked connections on the battery.
Checked ground connection from the frame to engine.
If I unplug the driver's side amp the noise will stop and I can listen to the other speakers with no issues. I have no other electrical issues with the car. Does anyone have any ideas?
