i am just doing a follow up on one of my previous threads. i had asked about a strange smell coming in witht the heat every now and then. it stunk soo bad. well after breaking down, jumping my car three times to get it home, and a new battery i discovered it was an alternator problem. i put a new one in and proud to say i am back out on the road. no one seemed to know what the smell was caused by so just figured id give some of ya a little tip. and just to warn you newer stangs this can happen to you mine is only an '03 with just under 40k miles.
