I have a 94 mustang with a 3.8. i just recently bought the and it runss great but it has a chargin problem. sometime my alternator will keep the battery goin and sometimes it won't. any idea as to what may cause this?
Try replacing the brushes. Cost is around $14. Remove four torx screws on the back to access the assembly. The repair can be accomplished without removing the alternator from the car if you get some stubby 1/4" hex drive torx bits. Napa has a set. Be sure to remove the paperclip wire that retracts the brushes for installation. Disconnect the battery negative before starting work.
