Can an aluminum flywheel be ground when you install a new clutch or do you have to install a new flywheel? Do aluminum flywheels chatter?

my bro has an all. flywheel in his turbo supra and it chatters a lil the engine bucs like a bronco tho

If the surface looks good just break the glaze with some 80 grit emery and install the new clutch.
If it is scored contact the makers for advise.

The chatter in your buddies supra is most likely caused by the clutch, not the flywheel. Aluminum flywheels have a steel friction surface just like steel flywheels.

on my fidanza al. flywheel it has an replaceable steel friction plate. replacement plate is like 54 bux or so.
no chattering at all with the al. flywheel.
