I am setting up a new system...as follows:

Alpine CDA 9835

MB Quart Premium PCE210
MB Quart Premium PCE164
Alpine MRV-T320
Alpine MRV-T420

Alpine Mono MRD-1001
JL 10w6 10" Sub

My question is:

the PCE-210 is a components set that is a 4" mid and a 1" tweeter...their power ratings are 30-80w. ( http://www.mbquart.com/2003/en_US/p...to&series=premium series&strt=1&model=PCE+210 )

I was going to use the Alpine MRV-T320 to power these...but I am not sure on the power rating on this amp is. I think it might be 80x2 or maybe 50x2. I am not sure how to read the power ratings. ( http://iweb.alpine-usa.com/pls/admn...320&p_category=40&p_subcategory=110&p_main=10 )

Would this amp blow up these speakers? Or could I use an even bigger amp (like another Alpine MRV-T420).

I need an expert's help please!

Links dont work.... get the links up and I will be able to tell you for sure. Just look at the watts rms in 4 ohm, for the amp and for the speakers. As long as the watts rms for speakers is higher than the amps power you are okay.

That amp would be fine with those speakers, but what are you going to use to power the other set of speakers and the sub? Are you planning on getting another 2 channel for the other set of speakers, and then a mono amp too? I guess I dont understand how you are going to get power to everything....

yeah. The components are going to be powered by the Alpine MRV-T320 (2-chann)

the two 6.5" down low are going to be powered by the Alpine MRV-T420 (2 chann).

And the Alpine Mono MRD-1001 will power a JL 10w6 10" Sub.

I am not sure where, or how big the rear speakers are in the new 05.

Thats gonna be kind of a pain to wire, i mean not horrible but it seems like more work than you need. Why dont you just get a 5 channel amp, I think alpine makes one if you want to stick with them. Something that would be like 75 x4 + 300x1. Just a thought...

Bad experience with an Alpine 5 Channel....resulted in a fire in my trunk, on my previous stang. Too much heat. And I am pretty sure that 10w7 will need more than 300w. But I will look in to it. Thanks.

Do you know where and what size the rear speakers are on the new 2005?

under powering a speaker is far worse for it then over powering it. distrotion is the enemy and too little power causes distortion. the 10w7 requires between 500 and 1000 watts. just be cool with the loud knob and the quartz's will be fine. as for the amp on the sub why not use the amp that was designed for that sub??bad boy jl

ehh...I was trying to stay with alpine amps. Plus, my room mate has a 1000x1 JL with two 10w7's. I wanted to something different. I will keep looking.

Thanks for everyone's help.

I tryed the being different thing once, A close friend has a 90 gt and I wanted a ford performance car that was different, with out going too old school, but didn't want to get a mustang, because he had one. I bought a 93 SHO dropped ALOT of money into mods (close to $40k into it when all was said and done) and still couldn't beat him. Now i'm here, bought a 89 GT and wish i would have spent that $40k on the GT in the first place.

I'm not saying the alpine is bad, it's just not designed to run the sub like the jl is. Just like the SHO is still a taurus and will never have the potential of the mustang.

Good luck with the set up tho, I wish i could justify a W7 to my wife because they are BAD ASS
