Well it was combined with the cost for paint & body so i dont really have a breakdown. i paid about 8k to the paint shop but they did good work

Since its a street car i'm not going too trick with the suspension. Stock upper and lower control arms, shelby drop, 620 springs, tcp r&p, bilstein shocks in the front. Just 4 1/2 Leafs in the back. I havn't quite made up my mind on the wheels yet, but i'm thinking about the Torq Thurst M's if they'll fit.

whats the street address or name of the shop. Would you recomend them??? I will be in need at the end of summer!!!!! oh yea since you are local do you do the fri nite cruz @ RUBY's or the wed (one a month) at ricky and ronnies???? I am the guy with the blonde pony tail either in a dark grey 88 saleen or a white 65 fastback with tenspoke wheels. keep an eye out Chris

They seem to do pretty good work, you just kinda need to keep an eye on them to make sure they're doing things the way you want. Its on Normandie between El Segundo and Rosecrans. I sometimes goto ruby's and rickie & ronnies, but my dad (truck90278 here on stangnet) goes more than i do, he was at R&R this month. He drives the blue 64 Chevy step side truck.

I would recommend them. they do take a while and you need to work closely with them. They do some restoration work but also a lot of work for dealers and insurance. The name of the shop is Top Shine, the adress is 13606 S. Normandie Ave, Gardena, CA 90247, Tel.: 310-220-5254. Also be prepared to spend a lot of time there. We were there for 7 months. Their metal person does nothing but special iinterest vehicles (metal work only. He did all the metal replacement how I would want it done. If your familiar with the Torrance area, another well know shop on Artesia Blvd near Crenshaw wanted $20K to start without knowing that the quarter panel required replacement. We were half that. Some of the extra work included was fitting the fiberglass parts which takes a lot of time. They have also worked on my '64 Chevy truck. Feel free to contact either Adaminchains or myself for any additional information

Sometimes we do. usually Adam has to work so he can't make Ruby's. As my wife and I were leaving to eat at Captain kids,I noticed a
white FB pulling in. I'll keep an eye out for you

I'm curious...how did you clean the axle and spindle before powder coating them? Were they media blasted, wire wheeled, or something else?

Heres one of the front discs. Powder coated the front calipers same as rear, and powder coated the spindles black.

Actually "all of the above". When you take a part into a powdercoater, they will media blast the part themselves. You want the part at least reasonably clean, get rid of the dirt and grease. The nicer finish you want after powder coating the more prep work you will have to do. On the axle housing, we degreased it inside and out. We then went over the axle houseing with a small angle grinder with a flap/sanding wheel to knock off most of the real rough spots and the little weld splatter. We missed some and they really show up after powder coating. On the spindles, we cleaned them and knocked off the rough forging marks. It really comes down to how nice you want the finished parts. For someone to see the small weld splatter we missed they would have to be really under the car up close. A different shop did the axel housing from the other components, the coating on the axle housing looks OK, but is not as thick as on the other components. On the calipers, they were sent out to a professional polisher (we could have done it, didn't have time) and then powder coated as they will show thru the wheels.

By the time they did all the melat and rust repair, along with a few changes we made at the least minute when it was ready for colr we ended up at 10K. STILL a good deal. I was probably in the shop 2-3 times a week watching and checking on the work. We were very pleased with the metal work and their efforts to eliminate any rust problems. It also included using an undercoating material on the bottom of the vehicle, inside the vehicle, inside fenders etc. All components were painted seperately and the sheetmetal assembled after painting
