Hey guys, as some of you know, the cardboard backing on the door panels doesnt hold up very well once you pull it off. Mine is all ripped up where the clips go, and getting them to get back in there, and let alone line up, will be impossible. I have gotten about 3 or 4 in there, and they are holding the panel on right now. Obviously this isnt enough, as if you go to shut the door the panel wants to come right off the door. I was thinking about putting a couple bolts in the door, and poking a hole through the door panel and putting a nut on it, but that would look really bad. Is there any other way to attach them without buying a whole new panel for over 300 dollars? Other than the cardboard backing, there mint.

Guessing you have a 73 conv, velcro would help. A couple of screws on the outer edges would help too. In a concealed area, would do the trick.

is there a tool for these clips??

is there a tool that exists for squeezing these clips when you want to remove the door panel??? i've been using the tug- with screwdriver/wonder bar pry method to remove mine............

this is OK, until i have the car painted, then if i need to get in there i need a better way that won't scratch the paint

if there is no such thing as a tool, i'd like to know what y'all do to remove door panels

Hell even double face tape would hold it, not as removable as velcro but less bulky too.

i got a tack pulling tool and glued felt to the back of it. you can get one at any home depo or lowes.it slides right in between the door and the panel, and wont scratch the paint.

use the JB weld like somebody said or try mixing up a little resin to repair the door panel.

I use 2" wide self-stick velcro. Available in rolls that will last you forever. I stick on about a 3" long strip in each spring-clip location. Works well. Sounds cool when you remove the panels.
