Any suggestions on a distributor.

Well its time for me to upgrade my distributor from points to electronic. What brand and type would you guys suggest for my car. Its a 289 bored 30 over edelbrock performer intake and cam. thanks for the help.

I'd just add a Pertronix kit to it and call it good unless your shaft is loose, then get a duraspark from the parts store. You don't need a double-throw-down-billet-with-flashing-leds-show-me-the-bling distributor unless you just want one. Spend that extra money somewhere else on the car.

I am running my original distributor with a Petronix... been doing so for several years now with out a single hitch. My setup is similar to yours, so I would think you would see the same reliability and benefit.

Would be nice to upgrade my whole ignition system, but like Larry said above, I think there are better areas to spend the $$ for right now (at least for a street application).

You can always buy a reman (points)dist. from your local parts house if yours is loose. That way you don't end up with both a duraspark distributor AND a Pertronix unit that won't fit it. Or you can always sell the Pertronix unit to Larry.
