Anybody know the specs on a sypder intake?

I just ordered new forged pistons and rods for my 418 (actually it's a 420 because its .040 over) And im selling the trick flow heads off of it and the Trick flow R intake.

Well im looking at the Jegs/Kaase heads. I was wanting to know if they will match up to a 351 super spyder intake. I can't find any info on this intake.

Other plans are too sell and replace the balancer and flywheel and have it internally ballanced. Looking at running approx 7000 rpms if possible. Also looking to convert my 69 block over to a 4 bolt main or would a main girlde be sufficiant. ITs 230 for the main caps and 200 for the machine work or its 300 for a decent girdle?

Tell me if you guys think im going a little overboard on any of this? Again the main purpose of this post was to try and find out how well the super spyder intake will match up with the kaase heads? Will this be an effective setup or am i wasting my money?

I don't know any of the specs on the spyder intake, but I'm subscribing to figure out what they are.

the spyder is just the upper piece

how much specs do you need?

Its a 9mm elbow :rofl:

its the lower you select that contains the specs you seek
any 351 carb lower, an air gap rpm or victor or whatever you choose.

its obviously a little more then the upper considering that its Fuel injected.. So what your saying is that its a modified lower (victor or whatever) with the 90mm elbow and fuel rails?

Yeah have you ever seen one? It's just a an elbow. I guess it goes on a carbed manifold with injectors where the carb would normally go!

Yeah.. Makes sence... So its probably a victor jr or a super victor jr? Cant tell from the pic.. Or is it some other intake. Does keep the same charactoristics being fuel injected. A range between 3500-7500 RPM for the victor jr and 4500-8000 RPM for the super V.J.

The injectors are positioned on the lower intake though...

So really its just a machined carbed intake with fuel rails and an elbow...

It's a carbed lower with injector bosses welded into the ports and the elbow adapter for T/b > carb plate. A girdle will just hold you motor together if/when it splits

The Spyder is a Vic Jr. and the Super Spyder is a Super Vic. I'd get it. Have you ever seen magazine tests with it? It blows away any type of manifold on the market. Go over to Hardcore50.com and post in the SBF section. Mark O'Neal hangs out over there. He is the owner of CHP and co-owner (I believe) of Probe. He'd be the one to talk to. He's a great guy and is super helpful.

I don't know allot about it, but, I wouldn't run it unless I was turning 8k+RPM on a 400+ cid motor, or a big boosted motor.

The best thing you could do is talk to someone who owns one or try and get the flow sheet on one. A converted carb intake will not behave the same as when it has a carb on it, I know that. It's no longer flowing any fuel once it's been converted to FI.

Then again, if you have them money, go for it and let us all know how it is.
