anyone else have the cricket in their vent?

I was just wondering how many people on here have that cricket/chirping sound coming from their vent when they have the fan/ac/heat on. It sounds like its coming directly from the passenger side airbag.

My old '95 GT did it, my '94 Cobra does it, my friends '96 v6 does it, and my other friends '96 Cobra does it. I can live with it because its not that annoyig but I've always wondered if there's an easy way to fix it.

Is this not like the most common problem with SN95's?

Is it the blower motor? It is visible right under the dash on the passenger side. Turn on your vents and see if the noise is coming from there. If it is you could just replace the blower motor.

Thats a good possibility. I say that because the sound stops when you turn the blower off.

Then it more than likely the blower motor .... unless you have an upset cricket in the dash.

If the rat cage (acutal blower fan) is loose or unballanced in the HVAC it can rub on the housing and cause a noise similar to what you are describing.

Mine does it on lowest speed. I knew where it was coming from though. I'll wait till it gets worse.

sounds like the brushes are worn in your blower you can remove it, its very easy.under passenger side you remove 3 screws for cover and disconnect harness and pull blower motor and wheel out of heater case when removed you can reconnect and turn it on to verify its squeaking it could just be a leaf or trash dust ect causing squeak if you verify its the motor and not trash replace you can get a used on fairly cheap click on link below
