A buddy of mine has a 02 model with a boost controller, and full exhaust and runs 13.1 in the quarter. They are massive off the line with the AWD system. He usually cuts like 1.7 60fts. So they are pretty quick. I ran him when he first got it, and it was a really close race. But my car isnt the fastest either. 160,000 miles and atest to that...

I raced one last year. He had a downpipe, boost controller along with a bunch of other things. I beat him pretty bad. He said he was shooting for low 13's, but i doubt it would have ran that, as i was in the high 12's at the time. He would get me on the launch by a half a car length then i would pass and pull on him. He was pretty pissed after lol. We raced twice.

STI's on the other hand are very fast cars.

I raced a WRX twice at my local track last year. His car was stock and he went 14.8 both times, his 60 foots were the same as mine 2.0-2.1. Thats all I know about these cars.

Couple of days ago on Interstate 75 in Florida, I tried jumping one at a 65mph roll, but couldnt catch him. He was slowly pulling on me all the way to 110 at which time i backed off. Hopefully these 3:73's i got today will help close that gap.

I really doubt a boost controller & exhaust will get a regular WRX to a low 13. The STi has a lot of trouble hitting that number in any but the most skilled of hands. With a UTEC you get perhaps 275 horsepower if you believe TurboXS (and they have every reason to be optimistic with the numbers). AWD or not, that's 204 horsepower to the wheels, and 13.1 is gonna be tough.

I tried racing a new WRX on my bald tires. He hooked like mad as I sat there an spun. The WRX seriously looked like it just jumped off the line. Very shortly into the run we both noticed a cop behind us and ended it. The funnies part is the cop pulled up next to me and it was the same cop who pulled me over literally 10 minutes earlier for not using my turn signal in a turning lane with a green arrow(pshh). Anyways the cop yells at his window at me "You got balls kid" , and drove away.

I raced one of those wagon ones a couple months ago. We went twice up to 60. First time, I was caught off guard and out of the hole till the end of first, we were both dead even. Shifted to second and I started walking away. Next light I said I wasnt ready, lets go again. So the second time I pulled a half car in first, and another car in second gear. At the next light we BSed for a bit, he said "damn man, that thing moves pretty fast", like it was the first time he was beat. That thing scared me a little though. It was a monster through first. Usually I rip cars off the launch..

Im going to race one, some time in the future. This guy at work was showing off the turbo noise (sweet), but I'll be ready for him, hopefully i'll be at 240 at the wheels, and then i'll show him what my stang can do.

The WRX can be a terror, but they tend to lose alot in the top end.

They are easily modded to get impressive numbers for a 4 door car. Most modded cars I see are running 13.5 and under, which for most 94-95 guys is a fair race with bolt ons.

Beware of the STI- This car will hand it to you if someone can halfway drive it.

The AWD system in Subaru is fierce, they launch like mad, while we spin.

I respect all things fast.....

cruising on I-275 in Tampa one came up behind me and passed me on the right
we were about even and I shifted down to 3rd and floored it, I was a car length ahead, ran out of rpms shifted to 4th and remained 1/2 car length ahead
up to about 100 mph. They are fast but I was more impressed with the way my car pulled considering I had about 250 lbs of added weight in the form of 2 passengers.

a friend of someone I know wanted to run me one night. he called me trying to setup a race. he in the wrx, the guy in his 99 cobra, my friend in his 95 cammed z28 and I met up and went out to a deserted "spot" with no crossroads. He thought he was going to rape me from a stop. not only did I rape him out of the hole by a good 2 cars but I continued to walk on him. "I didnt think you would hook like that" were his words
we ran from 2 stopc, same result and a bunch of rolls all with the same result.

he had boost controller no cats down pipe exhaust etc etc

my friends with STIs are a different story stock i pull them with a 180& down pipe its even and with another mod.... coldair boost contoller, good bye 108+traps and 1.7s 60 foots
