Anyone interested?

On April 7th, I'll be able to get my hands on a 92 lx notch. It's red on red, and has a mostly dismantled 4cyl in it. It's pretty straight and clean, I haven't looked REAL close yet, but I haven't noticed any rust. The only damage to the body that I did notice was a broken driverside taillight lens.

I was thinking about putting it on NW Classifieds for around $500. Would anyone be interested in this or should I just let it go to the crusher? I think it would be a great track car or great for a donor car or donor body to someone's wrecked 5.0.

If you guys are interested, I'll get some pic's up and if you're interested enough I'll go ahead and put it in the classifieds.

I'm looking for a Notch but swapping in a 5.0 and the associated goodies is a bigger project than I'm looking for. It would be a shame to crush it. Put it on Craigslist. I bet someone will take it off your hands.

well, it's not "on my hands" yet... it was towed for being abandon and I can buy it from my work. I was just wondering if anyone would be interested in it. But I'm guessing from the responses, or lack of, that I will just let it go.

As for the title smokedya, if it's an abandoned recovery, you'll get lien paperwork, which you just bring into the dmv and get a title, it's easy. (though most people are scared of it, its no different than a title transfer).

Exactly right, it will have a lien title which is just a "temporary title". The original title is voided in DMV records and the lien title becomes the new title which you take to DMV to get an actual title. The only problem with a lien title is that it does not say if there are any brands on file (ie: salvaged) but a quick check of the vin on carfax will tell you. I'll get some pics today and post up the vin for those of you with a carfax account.

Yes, the motor will need a lot of work if you plan to use the 4-banger that's in it. The head is just sitting on top of the block. I don't know why it's taken apart but if it's a head gasket then half the work is already done

Some new info:

I checked the car out today while I was clicking off a round of pics and noticed it wasn't a 92 like I was told, after checking the VIN indicator it's an '89. But I didn't see any rust at all, theres no rips or tears in the seats and they are in good condition other than sum sun fading. Not only is it a 4cyl but it's an automatic. But it's got power windows and locks. Brand new muffler (shown in pic) and the underside looks good (still no rust found), also even after all the rain we've had in recent days the interior is still dry including the trunk.

Okay, here's the VIN for those of you with a carfax, and if you could post the results to help out others: 1FABP40A3KF152073

It looks as though all the parts removed from the engine bay are in the trunk.

Odometer reads: 80361 (if I remember right)

Please let me know if you are interested, what I pay for it is what you pay for it. Since it's an 89, not a 92 like I was told before I looked at it, I'm going to offer the boss less than $500 for it, probably offer 300 and he'll want 400 just to give you an idea of what to expect price wise. But, I'm not going to buy it if nobody wants it. If I don't buy it then it will most likey go to the crusher on Monday so speak now or forever hold your peace.
