Anyone seen "Born to Race"?

I also liked the good sportsmanship theme at the end, too. I definitely like to talk ****, like the dad doing the line "you've got a new car? Oh, I didn't recognize it cause I've only seen the front from my rearview mirror." But, even though it was kind of the cliche ending to give the good guy a chance to be a hero and all, but you saw the two dads walking down the track together, too. I like a good race, and to me, while nasty rivalries can make things interesting, I definitely prefer the good dudes that'll just shake your hand after a race.

To me, this movie has the best portrayal of how street racing can be a lot of fun. The first street race ends in a wreck showing that it's not safe to street race the way that one was done. The Dad was constantly harping on his kid about not street racing - loved the "Who do you think you're talking to?" line. But, he was also realistic about the fact that street racing was going to happen and told his kid to do it only when no one else is around.

No way I would've sold that Buick, or my mustang for that matter, though. I might have loaned it to the kid for the races, and then helped him raise the repair funds after the fact...

The movie was just fun, and really captured a lot of the lifestyle. You can tell that the writers either were real hobbyists themselves, or consulted closely with some.

Lame movie... sure... but cool cars and fun to watch races.
