I just got done reading the mag and they dont say a word about it on the cover but they have a really good article on 40 years of mustang. Its about 8 pages long and has alot of neat info.

The other thing that got my attention in the mag is they test a ferrari and a porsche and talk about how fast and great these cars are, well the numbers are close to what a 03 cobra puts out. granted they are 6 cylinders, exotic car with great handling, ya know, the whole package. BUT.... my chest did get a lil swell to it because i know i will never face them on a closed course, but i sure am gonna make eye contact at the next stop light if i see one. exotic schmotic buddy...check out this american muscle and history!

I know what you mean. Living here in CT where it seems to be the "nice weather exotic car capitol of the U.S.", I cant wait for the "nice" weather and catch a few exotics by surprise.

BTW what floor mats did you get to replace your stock ones. Ford parts network has the 10th Anns for like $60 for the set, I thought about buying an extra set, but thought I would ask about the ones you bought.

BTW, nice car...

Gotta love the black 10th anniv. the red looks so good i think, every time i open the door at a gas station people look twice.

I acctully got a set from my mother in law for christmas from advanced auto parts or auto zone. they are black and have a ford blue oval with Racing underneath, its all embroirdered and looks good while saving the 10 anniv mats from gettin ruined, i know those stores have alot of ricer stuff but there are some nice genuine ford accessories too.

I have thought about gettina extra set of svt mats just to say i have some though.

So are you keeping your 10th stock? I cant decide if this car should be kept pristeen since there was only 2003 of them or if i just follow suite of all the other cobra owners and mod it. I have managed to keep the mileage down on it.

BZ- Yeah Im keeping her real close to stock. I have only put a cat-back on so far and will probably add a CAI on it once I decide which one I like the most. I hate to say it but I am going for looks as well as function for that part. I like the K&N FIPK but it doesent look so hot.

I figure since there are only like 381 Black Coupe 10th Ann's I dont want to stray too far from the original.

I know what you mean about the seats, they garner ALOT of attention. I REALLY like the whole 10th Ann package, I could maybe do without the red door inserts but that would be it. It really sets these cars apart from the non-10th ann 03's. Kinda like how the 04 Mystic is. I do get some gruff from non 10th ann 03 Cobra owners, a few ricey comments etc. But I like having my cars different from the rest.

I already had the car to the dyno with just the cat-back, put down right at 392rwhp, which is right near 450 at the flywheel. I figure Ill add the CAI, get her up over 400rwhp and Ill be happy with a car that is actually producing right around 475 horsepower at the back of the engine. Being able to get deep into the 12's with a basically stock car is more than I ever thought I would have, so I am happy with that.

All in all I love the 10th ann's, if I could have afforded a vert I would have done that, but Ill stick with the coupe.

WOW i didnt know there was less than 400 black coupe 10th's! i am keepin the miles down as much as possible because i figure it is a limited number car within a limited production run. mine is #8365 of 8394 of coupes, 1974 of 2003 10ths...makin it 29th from last one made.

the only gruff i have gotten is from 03 owners who bought early and didnt know there was going to be a anniversary run with different options.....

i can remember my dad talkin about how "gee, if i had only held onto that hemi i had, or i used to have one of those, HOW much is he sellin that for!!?? or i could bought 10 of those in the 60's for next to nothing!" lol...i am tring to beat the hindsight 20/20 thing.

Yeah I think the number of black coupes is either 381 or 384 I cant remember where I saw it though. If you think about it there are probably around 400 of each coupe color and 300 of each vert color + or - a few. Basically there are six different variants of the 10th ann's 3-coupe 3-vert and the black coupes make up around 19% of the 10th anns produced.

As far as the could woulda's, that is the reason I got this car. I had a very rare 95 GTS. about 20% of all 95 GTS's had AODE's and less than 2% of all the GTS's were Saphire Blue. I figure out of the 96 made in Saphire Blue, 20% may have been AODE cars, meaning less than 20 were ever produced.

So I still feel like I have one of those rare late model stangs. I figure 381 out of a total of 12000 03 Cobra's and out of 140,000 total stangs made for the year, it would be pretty exclusive for a high production type car anyway.
