I'm 56 and have owned many Mustangs, V8s and V6s.
I had a 2005 V6 and now drive a 2007 GT. Insurance is more for the GT, with a perfect driving record I might add, but not much more than for the V6. I would have to look up my records to be certain, but it is very little more but it definitely is not the same. Gas mileage on the road is about the same. In town, both such, the GT sucks a bit more.
The V6 has kept the breed alive. That is a fact.
I do wish Ford would put some newer engines in the Mustangs. But the other models are getting the most attention right now because the Mustang still sells fairly well.
My ambition before I die is to own a Shelby. I turned down a 66 Shelby about 20 years ago, low mileage and $13,000, because I already owned three Mustangs. I couldn't think of how to explain that to my wife. That car would be worth a small fortune today.
I love all Mustangs. I, however, have never owned one of the 4 cylinder models. They existed and had an important role in keeping the model alive. For awhile, you could not get a V-8.

Shelby, and V6 and 4 cylinder Mustangs SUCK. Just an opinion. But it is mine. The last real Bad ash Mustang Ford made was the 03-04 Cobra. The
S195 shelby's are just high priced cars that make money for Shelby and some dealers. No thanks.

Do you make it a point to have every one of your opinions conflict with someone and come off as being offensive. Cause If I owned a Shelby and you said that I would take that as a personal shot against my car. Why dont you just say, Shelby is not my thing, instead of they SUCK. You just cant seem to be satisfied with anything, 6 cyl SUCKs, vert SUCKS, Shelby SUCKS, even your own S197 SUCKS, you want it smaller and this that and the other.
I wouldve hated to be your parent while you were growing up, you probably whined about fing everything.

It is Geico, trust me it's real, I have no reason to lie, I am 20, un-married, have a 96 Explorer and my 06 GT on the same policy, my name only with one accident on my record, I pay 240 a month for full coverage for the GT and liability on the Explorer. The exact words from the lady were "Sir it doesnt matter if it is a V8 or V6 there is no option for the two motors in my system, just if it is a coupe or convertible."

Wow. I believe you. Had a friend who had geico insurance and he gets dicked around all the time on claims and supposed coverage. I guess it depends on your package, but the big 3 insurance suppliers all care what kind of motor and HP your vehicle has. I've checked with all of them. For my wife, who doesn't need a lot of speed, the V6 was a savy buy. I have my V8 though. It's just stupid when people completely dismiss the motor. Little do they know it's what keeps the Mustang brand afloat. Saying that, the next one I get will be a GT. I like the updated SOHC 4.0 over the OHV 3.8 though. To me, there was a huge improvement in power delivery, let alone the 50-60 hp increase. Referencing a 98 V6 and a 06 V6.

Ahhh, Yes, They all suck. And I to would hate for you to be my parent. I might have to consider emancipation at a young age. It doesn't surprise me that you like 6s, and probably 4 doors. I could care less. They suck, they suck. Did I mention they suck?
Why don't you just not read my post you just can't seem to keep your nose out of my post. You also missed all the times that I said, If people like 6s or verts well go ahead.
I still think they suck.

Your opinion has been noted. And you are definitely a cylinder snob, but I doubt I needed to tell you that. Sad to think there are so many here that bring the name and brand down. Oh well, back to the classics!!!

Wouldnt even have been a need for emancipation I wouldve aborted you, or paid for you to be kidnapped.
P.S. Id rock a 4-door, the new SHO is a bad bitch that would run down most two doors on the streets these days. But I guess you got too lost in your pissed off at the world bubble to open your eyes and see past your nose.

I like the 6 and 8 cylinder engines for different reasons. Insurance cost is less than $1 a month, gas mileage is about the same. The 6 has less weight on the nose and is a little better balanced. The 8 has a visceral rush of exhaust sound and quite a bit more thrust. But I don't prefer 1 over the other. The silver V6 is a darned beautiful car with all the work I've done to it. The black GT has almost no styling mods. They're both a blast to drive.

70% of all Mustangs sold are V6's.

I would not like to be the neighbor of 'you know who.' If you respond, you know who you are. This thread also appears to be dominated by same.

Its unfortunate this thread has had its ugly moments. Can't we let it die or can a moderator close it?
