Progress Thread auto cross a 2004 sn 95 v-6 mustang

I am looking to start auto crossing a 3.8 automatic mustang. I am on a very tight budget and was told stock mustang gt parts will fit on a v-6 model (sway bars, bigger brakes, struts, rear ends and wheels and tyres) what will fit and what won't? Thanks for all your Help.

Everything will fit They are the same. I once put a gt rear end in an 03 v6, made that v6 wake up a bit with the 3.27 gearing vs the 2.73.

Thanks for the come back, I know using a v-6 stang to autcross is a bit week but for the class it may be all right any advise?

Thanks, I never even thought of that combo, most people would of said ditch the v-6 and go v-8 but that supercharged combo is something to think about. (There is one down the street from me for $700) mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm darn that is sure temteing Thanks for the tip Fred

Thanks I used to have a 77 Trans am 400, 4 spd car, I had a BLAST, what you said about HP does not help much , your right I thing I was Drifting before it was cool any way I am looking forward to getting back into auto crossing. I am on a very tight budget so most of my parts are going to be hand me downs or junk yard. its good to know most GT parts will fit. Thans for the heads up on what will work. Fred P.

Hay out there everyone I just scored my first freebe for my mustang, got a rear end out of a v-8 car its got a posi and 3:73 gears, slotted disc brakes, I also got a rear sway bar only needs new poly end links the ones on it are rubber. It's nice to know The Mustangs guys out there will help each other out . Hay if any one has a dead or dieing mustang get in contact with your local scca club I'll bet they know some one on a tight budget that could use some parts. Thanks to all Fred

Thanks guys for all your input on this build, I am just getting started on geting parts so far I have scored a freebee rear end that has a posi unit and 3:73 gears, a front set of slotted brake rotors and get this I got a free drag race paracute I think I'll put it on and when I cross the finish line I'll pop it gad that would be funny

Fred here again, I have a sort of strange question . I have a friend that works at a used tire store and he can give me all the tires that won't pass state insp ( tread depth) can I use these tires? seems to me it would be sort of a cheep race slick as I would not have the tread wiggle or have to shave them down. As long as the tires are not cracked or show steel belts or cord would it be safe to use. I can get allmost any size and brand and compond I want please give me your thoughts. Thanks Fred

Thanks for the note, I can get nitto's, bfg's and a few others, most are G rated . I was thinking I can use them once or twice and put on a different set. As I am doing this build on a very tight budget ( Hand me downs and free bees) I am going to see what can work and won"t. This is what I have at present, 2004 Mustang, V-6,Automatic $500.00 2 front fenders, left door $125.00 Rear end posi 3:73 gears disc brakes $ 0 2 front sloted brake rotors $ 0 1 really cool DRAG RACE CUTE $ 0 1 rear rice rocket (off a Honda) spoiler $0 all the tires I want any size or brand $ 0 Thats it for now I'm going to go try this car stock for now as there is an auto cross this weekend at Fentress Air field here in Va, That will give me a base to start my build and will assemble parts as I get them and see what happens . Oh by the way, Is it true that the more race stickers you put on your car the faster you go? ( Thats why NASCAR has them on there cars, take them off and they only go slow
