auto trans question

i was changing the trans filter on my 92, then some sort of valve fell out.
idk where it goes, any help?

Toss it.

It's a plug Ford had in the dipstick hole at the factory; when they put the car together they just punched that plug into the pan and filled it.

Wow, I find that hard to believe that the pan has never been removed previously & that part disposed of.
