Crutchfiled will give you all the stuff you need and instructions to install it yourself.

My 07 GT has an auxiliary input jack located inside the center console. It was designed for iPods and other personal players as there is a 12V power point right next to the aux input.

FYI, the center console "cubby hole" will fit 2 Chinese take-out boxes.

My 06 head unit also shows AUX... So im ognna run out and take a look for the jack in the box.... (NPI)

But I also have an off topic question..... Is there a button somewhere inside the car for poping the trunk??? All I can find in the manual is the trunk release (if you should get locked in your own trunk)

As far as I know, I have to use the key,,, or the fob....

yeah, its sucks - but what are you going to do here?

anyway, the "jack" thingy on the `05's is in the back of the Head unit / a real after thought on Ford's part huh?

as one `05 guy to another, get the PIE hook-up and have it installed - either by a Sound House or the Dealer ...

once its in, you're in business

HEY, where is the plug in on the head unit to even run the AUX feature? I have seen many head units that are out of the car, and none of them have a plug for this feature.

All have had the 3 electrical plugs and the antenna

I have Sirius in my '07 GT and an IPOD in the console. IPOD costs nothing after the initial cost and I use it 99% of the time. Sirius costs $$ each and every month and their music selections in my opinion leave a lot to be desired (I have XM in my T-Bird and prefer XM over Sirius - YMMV). I wouldn't bother with Sat radio - load up an IPOD and go (really is 100% commercial free!).

The Punisher, i have the blitzsafe ipod whatchamacallit in my 06, and there is no plus for the AUX in the back of the head unit. what my setup did (and the PIE unit, as i have seen) is just to tap the plugs that go into the head unit.

That's been discussed many times. There are plugs available but it's cheaper, and better in my opinion, in the long run to just change head units.

Yeah I'd probably agree with this. I use an aftermarket aux input and while it works OK I've lost a few bits of functionality and the company (PIE) refuses to fix the f'n thing. Don't deal with PIE IMO. They don't answer support requests and they delete any kinds of posts on their support forums detailing ongoing issues people are having that they can't answer to make it look like everything works great. If I plug all the jacks in on my PIE unit to get proper speedvolume and dimming functions my battery will be dead within 8 hours just sitting in my garage doing nothing. PIE said they'd send me out a new IC to upgrade it (great that'll be my 6th time removing my stereo to work on it) and then they never did. Follow up contact has gone into a black hole, no return emails, no call backs, forum posts requesting assistance (politely or not) are deleted.

For the $140 I spent on it, I'd be much farther ahead (especially with today's prices) just getting a decent head unit. I'm now looking at the Pioneer 4000DVD.

HEEEEELLP

I have an '07 with the line-in jack in the center console. When I plug my MP3 player into the line in jack I only get the options for the sat stations - never a line in or aux.

I've tried two different cords. Any ideas?

Thanks!
Dave

I have an 06 GT and there is no trunk button in the car. You either have to open it via key in hole or key pad on key ring.

Aftermaket Aux Jack

In my 06 (1000 Shaker), I had the local stereo shop install a 3.5 jack for my music player. About that time I began experiencing problems with several of the warning ligths coming on at the same time. I would happen every 2-3 months. I would correct the problem by disconnecting the negative battery terminal. Did the jack installation cause this?

I have the same problem...I heard that you could have either the sat radio or AUX input, but not both.

I want want the AUX input over the Sat radio. Has anyone disconnected the satellite radio?

The 3.5mm aux input jack was useful 10 years ago. Today, no USB port means it is a worthless system. I have to burn songs onto CD for my Shaker 500, talk about 1990s technology.

Do you actually have the Sirius interface in your car? The unit id in the trunk passenger side. There is a harness that runs from the head unit to the interface. You could remove the center stack and the the head unit and unplug the Sirius interface an install something like the PIE aux interface. Let me know because I could be in the market for an OEM Sirius set up for my Shaker 500.
