As far as I know the only things not stock on the car are the rims, suspension, msd ignition, and exhaust. Just getting to know the car though haven't had it long. It also needs paint, the trunk and roof is starting to peel.

Nice mustang.

Those are my personal favorite fox wheels.

I have a paint and body help thread in here somewhere if you need any help with the paintwork. I'll try to dig the mothballs off of it and bump it back up again.

I look forward to your progress.

Thanks Dave, looked over your thread haven't read it all yet, but looks like an awesome read. Can you give me your opinion on fixing the roof? Does it look like (from the picture) it needs to be repainted or can I just shoot clear back over whats there, with a little prep of course?

I hate to say it brother, you're somewhat screwed. The clear is delaminating and has for enough time that you should strip it.

When the clear starts to let go (you see a haziness in the clarity of the shine), it's allowing more UV radiation through.

That eats up the base coat quickly. Then when it gets to the stage that is peeling, the rest of the environment gets involved and finishes chewing it up.

You could feather the clear out and primer it, but you'll end up having ferocious dye back problems.

My advice then? Strip it to the metal and refinish it.

BTW, it's sounds more intimidating to strip and refinish than it really is. If you ever need a phone call to talk you through it, just pm me.

So, Im guessing I'd need to paint both rear quarters as well, since theres no spot for transition right?

No, not necessarily. If the clear is hanging on tight there you will just need to feather back probably into the sail panels.

But do refinish the quarters with the roof. Smoother, more professional appearance that way.
