Bama tuned 2008 GT auto questions

I am thinking of buying a handheld tuner for my 2008 GT automatic but have a few questions before I decide.

1. Will the shift points be at higher revs in the daily driver setting? If so what is a typical RPM?

2. I live in Portland so we get a fair amount of rain. Will tuning be a problem on wet roads? Again on the daily driver settings.

3. Will the tunes change the sound of the exhaust? If so how?

4. I currently have the FRPP M-5230-5GT and FRPP X pipe. What kind of change can I expect over a stock tune?

5. What else can I expect?

1. On light acceleration, the shifts will be firm, but it will shift like normal at low speeds. At WOT, it will rev out more before it shifts.

2. Assuming your '08 has traction control settings like my '11, it will be fine on wet pavement. Tunes don't change the traction control, stability control, etc. They still work like normal, but the car is a LOT more fun with them off (on dry pavement of course). I haven't drove ours in snow, but I would flash it back to stock if I had to... with the tune + snow, it would be a little too much I think. It only takes a few minutes to flash tunes, so its not a huge deal.

3. I swear mine is a touch louder on start up and the idle is a bit deeper sounding, but its a 5.0L, not sure about the 4.6L. It might just be my imagination on the sounds...

4. Even completely stock, your car will feel totally different with a tune. My car just has Roush axle backs and the rest of the mods are cosmetic.

5. Increased throttle response, spinning the tires on the 1-2 shift (sometimes a bark hitting 3rd), pulls harder on kick down, more power across the whole rpm range, etc... its all better than stock! The only draw back is the fuel economy... its 1-2 mpg worse with the 92 octane tune I'm running. (or maybe its worse since I can't keep my foot out of it?)

FWIW, I would NOT recommend BAMA for an auto Stang. I tried there tunes and had unresolved issues with the car falling out of gear on kick downs. They rewrote multiple tunes and the problem just got worse (I finally got my money back). I had Steeda write a 92 octane tune and the car rips with absolutely no issues at all. I would only recommend the SCT tuner with a Steeda tune... very nice folks to deal with.

Thanks it does help. I hadn't seen any bad reviews of the BAMA tunes on an automatic. I will do some more investigating including looking at the Steeda. Where did you buy yours?

I originally bought my tuner from Steeda with tunes loaded. After reading so many good things about Bama, I decided to spend $150 and try their set up. After the problems with Bama, I flashed the Steeda tune back into the car. Call and talk to Todd at Steeda, he was super nice to me and answered every question I could think of.

To be honest, the bama tune was pretty scary when it fell out of gear on me. Once it did it as I stepped on the gas to merge onto the freeway in front of an 18 wheeler. My wife went crazy and I decided enough was enough... Please keep in mind that my goal is not to bash bama, but when I see a fellow Stang owner with an automatic tranny ask about bama, I feel obligated to share my experience. My experience might have been a fluke, but after 7 tunes (that all did the same thing), I kind of think they don't know the auto tranny cars very well.
