My battery light stays on. i have replace the alternator, starter silonoid, battery. I read in the haynes manual that there are fusable link but it doesn't show or tell the location. any suggestions on how to fix the problem. 1992 lx 5spd
Once, when my alternator went out. I replaced it and the battery light stayed on, dim, but on. The reason for me was a bad diode in the alternator allowing return voltage to cause the light to come on. I took it out and put in another one and all was good. Now I run a 3G alternator and all is awesome. I would go back to where you got the alternator and try another one, its only time and shouldn't cost a dime.
The fusible link is a wire coming from the starter solenoid on the driver side fender. It's going to have a black rubber piece on the wire, inside that is where the link will pop. If you can pull on he rubber and it stretches then the link is bad.
ok, I replaced the alternator this is #3 and battery light is on but dim. I can see a red thin wire that might be the fuseable link but there is no part number. Are there any links under dash board or in the engine compartment.
