I searched the fourm about this intake but no hits. I was looking into buying a new intake soon and wanted the heads up on the intake. I wonder if it will run up there with the gt40. Have any of you guys had experience with it? I know its 575$ right now with the upper,lower.rails. and all gaskets. Seems like a pretty good intake

'thing sure looks neat, but what is with the 18-35hp gain? They claim 10hp for a filter but only 18 for an intake? I found a couple of listings for "intake manifold" on summit one is $517 the other is $414 but BBK doesn't have the p/n on their site so i don't know which one it is for the price.

This is link to the brother's page for it.

Would someone read that and tell me what the fuel rail has to do the with the distributor?

I had never heard that before, thank you. You learn something new everyday. The thing looks wicked cool but i don't like range of hp gains. Edelbrock gives you solid numbers, even if their combo isn't the same as yours, it gives you a better idea than "18-35." That is a 17HP range! Almost as much as the min gain. For $500 i want to see hard numbers that compete with the proven edebrock "performer" that costs the same or better.

Has wicked burgerstand appeal tho!

I guess it would all depend on your current mods. Just like anything. Throw it on a stock motor, you gain X amount. Throw it on a built motor, you gain more.

I think it was the March (or was it April) issue of FF&MM, they claimed 40 hp, with the Performer, and a 70 mm tb, on a stock fox stang. And no I did not purchase the magazine, nor did I see the torque numbers. The only reason I browsed through it, was because I wanted to see the instalation of the lower intake manifold.

I got my issue of Brother catalog, and they claim 35-40 hp on a stock stang, with both; the performer and the BBK 70 mm tb. (same setup as FF&MM)

Round it to the lowest common denominator, and you can bet, you atleast get 35hp.

So you know what I went with.

This is what i am saying... the edelbrock is proven. Till i see dyno numbers on a stock mustang with this thing i wouldn't jump right on it. THat is a lot of money.

like borthers articles says all those names are carb people .................BBK only does F.I. and each runner gets you the same amount of air....................unlike some other's.................i will put some $$ down that says it will out perform edelbrock................

$517.39 from Summit starts shipping 9/7 and I hate to be ricer about this but I'd want it just cause it looks badass. Yeah I know I'll go buy some neons now...

Part # is 5001 by the way or BBK-5001 if your looking at Summit.

I gotta admit...like everyone else says..that is a SEXY intake. I love it, I'd take it EASILY over my Cobra. But then, my Cobra is ugly and as far as flow numbers, is outdated and SUCKS!

I for one really hope this thing is all of what its hyped up to be. I'd like to be one of the first to own and install one as well. Looks really nice, VERY different from other pieces you see around and it does integrate stuff you'd see in custom fabbed intakes like the open runner designs......lets all cross our fingers!!

BTW In the October edition of MM&FF they claim to test the piece AS SOON as it becomes available to the public. Page 28 for all those interested.
