BBQ GTG in Ventura County 9-5-04

Just a reminder for all those planning on attending, BBQ GTG is at Oxnard Beach Park by the Mandalay resort in Oxnard, off of Harbor Blvd. Starts at 11am but a few of us will be there early to secure the site and try to hold parking for all the stangs. Come on out and have some fun with fellow Stang owners. Signing out and off to the races tomorrow.

F.Y.I. - I know the park isn't that big but with it and the parking lot packed we may be hard to find. If you are facing the ocean and park we will be off to the far right. There is only one driveway to access the parking lot we'll be in so look to the far right and you'll see us.

Rusty/Joe: I plan of being at the park by 6 so I was thinking about meeting at say 5:30 at Chevron on Rose. I have some patio chairs, the weber and some beer/soda/water at my friends house down the street. Once we get set-up we can go grab breakfast up the street at Bakers Square if you want that swing by her place to pick that stuff up. She also has a truck so she can bring the stuff as long as we go load her truck up. I'll have my phone on so call me, Rusty, I'll PM you my cell number.

Great pics. Had one hell of a time, even kickin it at 6am was cool. Still can not believe we were beat to our spot. Could not have asked for a better day as far as weather was concerned and still cannot believe how clear the island view was, unbeleiveable day.
It was brought up that we need to do this again, so let's start talking dates soon.

Yeah, great event, I had a hell of a good time, got a bit sunburned (but nowhere near as bad as Rusty) and got more exercise playing v-ball than I think I've gotten all year.

Definately gotta do it again!

Had a kick a## time guys......Volley ball was great..Gayle (GF) had a good time too......Beer and volleyball.....sun.....a day like that....pretty tough to improve on it!!

Im looking for the 2 tone sig....we laughed about that last night

I'm glad everyone had a good time because I know I did. This would not have been possible without all of you there, so thanks to everyone that attended.

Thanks again to Rusty and Joe for meeting me at the butcrack of dawn to lay claim to our spot and set it up. Although we didn't get the spot we initially wanted, I'm glad we took the spot we did. There was by far more room and the trees at the other spot would have prevented the V-ball court from going up.

Hey Two-Tone....
Thanks again for bringing the chairs and que back to my place, I would still be sitting there drinking beer had it not been for you.

Joe-Stang: There was many, many, many beers pounded in your name. I think we cracked the first one around 10 and kept drinking til about 6 or 7 that night.

Well there's the SF Valley Stang Show at Woodley Park next Sunday, if anyone wants to drive down here for that. Also Sal's Drag Day on the 19th, an important event that we all need to support so that he dosen't cancel it.

If we wanted to do another BBQ, I'd like to throw up my house as a possible place. Got a couple of BBQ's here, and a pool that we could use.

A PCH cruise could be fun as well.

Great Pics! Thanks for sharing. As for the next BBQ/GTG, I will have a tough time squeezing one in till after Halloween, however offering up your place is great. Pool sounds fun but do you have room for a Volleyball court? That was fun and good exercise too, as I NEED it. How about parking? We can toss it around a little as the dates close in, but we should try for once a month.

There's a decent lawn back there that we can get a v-ball court on... i'll take pics when I'm home tomorrow.

October is a tough month for me.. got the Buffett Concert in Vegas on the 23rd so that weekend's out, and the 2nd is Bucaneer Days so I'll be out on Catalina for the weekend... lobster season opens around then too.

Also, thought of a name today... its kinda lame but here goes...

VASCAR.. like one of those things the cops use to catch us speeeding.

stands for:

Ventura Association of Stang Cruisers and Racers.

Let me know and I'll play with P-Shop and come up with a logo.
