Strange question to an annoying problem: has anyone has a belt slip WITHOUT making that horrendous squealing sound that we all so commonly hear in the cold winter months? My battery light occasionally flickers when downshifting, and it's been happening a bit more frequently. I have a brand new battery, 130 amp alternator, and new battery terminal cables. I can;t seem to find any loose connections and the car has no problems starting in the morning, even with these 0* temps we;ve had of late. The only thing I can possibly think of is the belt, it's somewhat new and I know that they can stretch a bit after a while when it's broken in.
