Does any one have any tips for bending out the shipping bend of the new steel fuel line I've just received from NPD?

I too have the same question. Mine came from California Mustang like that. I'm not ready to install it yet, but it would be nice to know what others are doing to straighten it out. I don't want to damage it in the process. All I can say is to do it gradually and nice and slow. Maybe someone else has better tips.

Yeah.....the reason I'm asking is that it's so obvious, looking at the fuel line that's on my car now, that the guy who installed it had no clue.

Mine had a nice sweeping 180 degree bend. All I did to straighten it was stand on one end very near the bend (with the other end in the upward direction) and then I just unwound the bend with my hands and feet until it was right. It was easier to do than explain. I do the same thing with aluminum tubing, although it is much easier.

does not appear that you could start this in the middle of the tube like you would need to.

Try this put tape on one end of the fuel line or tube the fill it with sand then tape the other end. Then you can bend your tube or fuel line with out it kinking up because of the sand.

There must be a store around with stainless steel tubing. Although not specifically for fuel line, I know they come in 6-7 ft length and are straight. Much smarter investment than "tube straightening tool" or sand trick which I really doubt will work.

Is it a straight piece?? If it is, roll it on the ground with your hands all along the lentht and keep rolling till its straight.

Yeah, grab it and get to bending. I picked up a fuel line for my '68 directly from the NPD warehouse in Ventura and it was still folded in half. All I did was straighten it out with my hands while trying not to kink it. It's not 100% perfect, but I don't lie under the car staring at it either.

Get a pliers type tubing bender and call it a day.

But he want to have a perfectly straight, kink-free tube. Once the tube is bent it can be straightened only with a special equipment. Impossible with bare hands
