Most are going to mgw. I have used B&M and had great luck with it. FWIW I will be putting a mgw on this car though.

i just ordered a Steeda TRI-AX from Tasca ford for $140 bucks brand new. I read the reviews and seems like theres a toss up between MGW and Steeda.

I have a Tri-Ax in my T45 in yellow notchback. The shifter stud that comes out has three holes and the handle has two. You can bolt the handle in a high position and a low position. My friend has his in the low position and I like it better than mine which is in the high position.

BUT...the MGW tops both the Tri-Ax and the B&M I had.

Hursts are popular with S197 guys because they have the chrome/billit handle that looks good with the retro interior.

I have a Hurst pro billit in my 67 with a T5 and I would love it... except the spring that pops you back to 3-4 from 1-2 broke in less then 1 week and they wouldn't replace it. I'm going to take it appart eventually but I think I might just put on an MGW with the hurst handle or something...

MGW. I test shifted a Tri-Ax on a guys '97GT and to be honest, the travel between shifts felt so far apart it still felt like the stock shifter. I can't even fathom an MGW having that much travel on a T-45.

I had a Tri-Ax and I loved it. Adjustable and quiet, unlike my buddy's Pro 5.0, which was pretty noisy.

No experience with the MGW, so I can't comment.

I believe it's a toss-up between the Steeda Tri-Ax and the MGW. Both are great shifters and a massive improvement over the stock shifter.

Yeah, why? I thought my Tri-Ax was a bit long. I liked my cheap MAC shifter better than the Tri-ax.
