Whats the best Syn Oil to run on an 04 GT ? Royal Purple, Redline or other ?

I've used Mobil 1 with no problems so far.

Mobil 1 0W20 - Been running it from 1500 miles on and I love it. No complaints. I ran it 5000 miles before chamging the oil and sent it off to have it screened and it looked just like it came outta the bottle. The lab reported everything A-ok. I won't run it again that far on the Mach again....I was just curious as I run my F-150 10K before an oil change. I send off a sample every other time. Everything is smooth as silk

not sure but they told me to only run 5w-20 so i went with motorcraft syn-blend they said they couldn't get mobile 1 in that weight.

I buy mobil 1 5w-20 at Walmart and Sams.

just run mobil 1 5w30, they try to say that the 5w20 is because of tighter internal tolerances, but thats a bunch of poo. 5w30 is a lot more readily available with M1 at least. i run M1 because its a fairly inexpensive quality synthetic. if redline or amsoil were cheaper and available for $4 a quart at costco less than a 1/4 mile from my house then i might use them.

AMSoil!!! The car ran smoother and cooler than with Mobil1.

I'm told that NASA runs only Mobile One Synthetic in the space shuttle. If their oil is good enough for the shuttle, it's good enough for my GT.

BTW, My car is a 2001 GT and I've had a Vortech V2 on it for over a year now and the oil is still clear on the dipstick every 3000 miles with Mobile One 5W 30. You can't go wrong with Mobile One.

A newbie question... if it's still clear after 3k, why do you put in new oil--why don't you let it run for a little while longer? If the oil is still "clean", doesn't it make sense it's still good? Again, this is a newbie question.

I have it in my rear diff and tranny as well.
No problems.

A newbie question... if it's still clear after 3k, why do you put in new oil--why don't you let it run for a little while longer? If the oil is still "clean", doesn't it make sense it's still good? Again, this is a newbie question.

Mega-Man, Thermal breakdown is an issue as stated above. But, Vortech can void the warrenty if you don't change the oil after 3,000 miles. If my GT was stock I'd run the oil probably 5,000 miles. But with the supercharger, I'll follow their rules.
