I have some black california plates off of a non op 66 rivera that I can use for my 65. Any one know of any problems I might have with switching them. I would think all I would need would be for the owner of the rivera to sign off on something saying it was okay for the switch. As any one done this?

Disregard, I answered my own question. I did some research on the net and discovered you can't tranfer 1963 or newer plates to another car. to register that car with say black plates that plate would have had to be issued to that car.

I was about to say...good luck, but I see you already found out the news.

In California I can not even get the original black plates on my 1966 mustang because the ps changed them to new ones.

I have both original black plates
I have the original title documenting the original plate number

Don't know why they will not due this for me.
