My cousin has a 71 Ford Torino Show car with a 351W. He had 4.62's in it but had to replace them with 4.11's bc it revs too high on the bway. He has a BEEFED up c4 trans but it only has 3 gears. I though c4's had OD but they don't. I suggested he go with a beefed AOD. Chris or anyone else, I forget where yu left off with yours...How hard is this to do? Do they need any beefing up? He prolly is running 400HP on his car. Someone told me the linkage will be the trick..and could be VERY tricky. Do they make kits for this?

O, he wants to go MVB too.

yep, c4s only have 3 gears.

they can be built to take plenty of horsepower. the trick with them is that the kickdown cable MUST be adjusted properly or you can burn up the tranny in a matter of miles.

have him talk to jay over at broaderperformance.com

yes i am. were you looking for more info about something .... like the linkage ... ?

if so, since he presuambly has a carb, he can get a cable from lokar, and there is a carb linkage adapter here, about 3/4 of the way down the page (#29):

http://www.ford-aod.com/

is that what you were looking for?

Thanks man! I think he will also have to go AOD so he can have an over-drive.
