I'm contemplating adding a blower(Vortec?) to my 95 w/ trickflow hci. I'd like to get some feedback from anyone out there that has done this. Feedback such as any problems with getting the blower to fit, special adapters, any other problems encountered or things that I might want to know about.
Thanks for the help!
P.S. I may not ba able to respond to inputs until tomorrow.

Subscribing.

I'm going this exact route, just opposite of you - S-trim then H/C/I.

Depending on the boost level, you'll need more fuel and more injector and along with that a custom tune to keep it all together. I purchased 42lb injectors to run low boost - 60's wouldn't be out of the question as you swap pullies.

I didn't have any problems getting my Vortech to fit. I did the Trick Flow H/C/I at the same time as the blower, and it all went together pretty easily. The only issue I had was that I needed a 3/8" spacer between the upper and lower intake so that the EGR provision on the adapter elbow would clear the valve covers.

I was pretty happy with the results from the combination. I am running 42lb injectors, with an 80MM PMAS mass air meter, and an Anderson Ford Power Pipe. I am seeing about 10 PSI of boost at 6,000 rpm's. I tuned the car with a twEECer, and put down about 460 rwhp before I added the methanol injection.

re trick flow w/blower

Thanks for the inputs. Yeah, I figured that I'd be changing out the 24# injectors. Do I need a higher capacity fuel pump(190 LPH now)? I did forget to mention that I installed a Superchip module to the PCM as well. Much more driveable now.
Thanks Again.

I'm dropping a 331 Trick Flow Track Heat H/C/I in my car. Stage 2 cam. I had a return line bung welded into the pan just for a vortech. If I get the urge down the road.

Good question - I haven't sat down to figure out the needed flow (the calculation is in EECAnalyzer) - I installed a 255lph and will be running an external fuel pump as well - I'll be overfueled but I figure that's better than the alternative.

I have a 255 lph BBK (Walbro) in tank pump right now. On the Jegs website for the BBK pump it states it is good for over 500 HP. I am not too sure what the 190 pump is capable of supporting, but I would either put an additional inline pump on, or swap out to a 255lph pump.

I agree with Stanger007 that it is definately better to be overfueled.

Some would say having too much gas is a bad thing...

I had to get a phenolic spacer for my upper and lower just becuase i got new valve covers so my trick flow rockers wouldnt hit... ummm other than that most of the stuff is in my sig
42lb injectors
255 in tank and inline fuel pumps
80mm mass air meter
think thats about it other than internal motor things, but im pretty sure you arent going that deep into it (forged pistons, main cap girdle, diffrent oil pump, 7qt oil pan....ect) but these things arent needed i just did it all at once. let me know if you have any other questions

Three other questions for ya

I already have the phenolic spacer and trickflow valve covers, so I'm good there.

Question 1. I notice that the lifter noise is more prominent with the trickflow kit then stock. Is that because they are mis-adjusted or because the valve covers are just.....thinner?

Question 2. I still have the stock ingition coil and was wondering if that's one other thing that should go. Any thoughts?

Question 3. Not expecting an endorsement but any ideas on where to get a good deal on a Vortec?

Thanks for the help. You guys are the experts.

Q1: its probably the rockers, i hear alot of aftermarket rockers are louder
Q2: ive read stock ignition is fine with N/A but with boost you may want to go with an msd box
Q3: if you wanna buy used keep an eye on corral classifieds, no idea on new

I know the first time I went to the dyno I had the stock ignition setup. I had spark plugs that were 2 heat ranges colder, and they were gapped at .032. At about 5400 rpm's I was having issues with the spark getting blown out. I upgraded to an MSD setup, and it cleared up right away.

I got my Vortech kit from http://www.superchargers4less.com/

They were about the cheapest I could find at the time.
