Sorry for another thread on this...
Engine went Kaboom...
What are your thoughts on these engines? So far it's the best bang per buck that I've found online ..

$1800 gets you a stock spec long block
Thanks
oh also, I found a company on ebay that sells a long block for $2300
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1993-95-For...ne-/272269282334?_trksid=p2385738.m2548.l4275
they have %100 feedback...
I gotta get this thing up and running, I need to pull a trigger on something soon...thanks

I dont know if anyone here is running one so it might be hard to get an honest review. There is loads of negative feedback surrounding them, but like anything there have to be people who have had no issues. For the money you could have an en explorer motor freshend up and will have a nice little 302 with a cam swap. I know they arent as easily available and it will take more time but that's the route I would go with.

Blueprint is junk, cast everything. You wanted to spray in the future, then that would not be the engine.
Ebay company...mmmh does not tell you the heads nor what is the rotating assemby. I would venture a guess...probably the cast junk like the blueprint engines
My local group here just pulled a blueprint engine out and had to have everything rebuilt.
Thanks guys....I appreciate your feedback....I'm just gonna do the Explorer swap.
Can anyone confirm if 1999 is the newest engine that is compatible?

That is the GT40P motor, slightly highly compression due to the CC of combustion chambers being smaller.
Only problem with those heads is they need a specific header. Either MAC, Ford Racing, BBK, or On3
The only thing you need to do is swap the oil pan/ maybe your pick up oil pick up.
Swap your timing chain cover and maybe your cam if you are not upgrading.
Lastly if you are going to a pick apart and buying an engine. Some give a warranty (90 days) and before buying:
1. Check the oil ( white/milk bad, metal bad)
2. Make sure it turns over using a wrench and or ratchet ( might want to spray WD40 in the cylinders also lets you see how it was running by looking at the spark plugs)
3. If the place you are buying from does not let you here it run. Go to Advance, rent a leakdown tester, either set up with the shop for an air supply or take an air tank and leak down test it.
Why leak down, most places wont let you do a compression test due use a battery and or chance of fuel catching fire liability.

Either do one of the following
Explorer motor
Take your existing motor to a local engine builder, and get a decent eagle stroker kit for around $1000 and build a 331
