I know a few of you guys have reconditioned the 1/4 glass trim. Enlighten me please. I'm not going to throw ratty looking quarter glasses back on my freshly painted car. @billison? I cant remember who else has done this. I don't want to replace them with new a/m glasses.

@BlakeusMaximus , awesome to hear you are painting the whole car. I also kinda wondered about why just paint the front end only, but I understand the financial allocation side. Good for you and the opportunity you are being given.

Thanks man. Yeah, after I brought it here to work I was wondering how it would look with a new front end. I was going to have the painter mix me up enough paint to do the rest of the car and come back to it, which wasn't ideal but....like you said...money.

I'm excited to do it and thankful for the opportunity. One of the perks of working in a body shop.

So I got the rear end apart. There’s a freaking bumper cover bolt the is a pain is the ass to get to on the right side because of all the filler neck and the vapor hose that’s in the way. Took me about 20 minutes to get that fuker out. After a couple days of the frame guy dodging me, I think we are going to square up my rad support and apron tomorrow after work. Then I’ll feel like I got some real stuff done on it this week. The roof has a little bit of hail damage on it and I’d rather have a PDR guy I know try to pull those out rather than doing a bunch of body work on the roof. The hood and hatch don’t have hail damage at all. The roof is definitely thinner metal. I might have to spring for new door moldings. I don’t think these survive removal. Next is removal of the quarter glasses, which I’m not really stoked about, and detriming the doors. Body work should start next week.

Davedacarpainter did a great job on a set. I think he used 3m8115 pba. Ive got to do some work on mine. Might be a winter project.

Thank god. The nostalgia bug for all things OEM appearance has bitten hard to the point of “save the porno red interior!” I’m kinda regretting selling off my cheese graters. I’m glad you are keeping it a GT

Yeah man I was joking. When first bought my car, the previous owner had blue cheese graters in it. One was cracked and pretty much had a hole in it.. I tossed em. Im definitely sticking with an OEM appearance, with a couple of changes. Heres a pic of the blue cheese graters when I first bought it

Yeah I'm looking forward to it being completed. My PDR buddy came over to look at the roof today and he said he will pull the dents for a bottle of Grey Goose, without me having to pull the headliner, which is killer because he could easily charge $500+ retail to some average Joe off the street. I would like to keep that in place.. Maybe they come out easy, I don't know, never had one out of one of these. We had a hail storm come through here last August and it kept him and I busy up until recently, so he said he would hook me up. We had a good year. Those hail damage guys make a :poo: ton of money. Hes a good dude. So that will happen next week some time. Everything is going pretty smooth so far.......

Yeah. Well I made that dude a lot of money last year. I contracted him to work on about 200 cars last year. I probably won’t have any updates till next week. I really don’t feel like going to work this weekend. Will see. I wish I could do all the :poo: in my garage. I don’t have a dent puller and I don’t think my compressor Will keep up with the DA.

There’s nothing better than someone who will do a job for a bottle or case of beer. Heck I’d even throw in a large pie too

I thought about throwing him some cash too. But it’s not too much work for him. There’s really not that many dents, and he doesn’t have to drop the headliner down. I bet he’ll have it done in a few hours.
