I am think about upgrading the intake on my wife's 2011 5.0 to a Boss 302 intake with a cold air kit.
Has anyone made this switch? How difficult is it? Will I need a new strut brace?

The install is pretty straight forward. There are many forums that have customers installing the units... We have not heard of any snags or issues.

You will want to get an aftermarket strut tower brace after the install. We recommend the Steeda double strug tower brace.

You will be very happy with the results.

Plenty of people have switched over to the Boss Intake. Take a look at the blog write up we did.

Here's one of my favorite explanation of this swap:

Thank you all.
I'm not sure it's worth the money and time.

Now I've seen some pretty great results from a couple of the after market air boxes and tunes. THOSE I think are worth the money and effort and the end result will put you further ahead than an intake swap/tune.
