Soo.

15% drivetrain loss......should make it about 478 at the flywheel? I'm not good at math, so someone can feel free to chime in anytime.

Thats what i was wondering, if that was calculated for the flywheel or for the wheels. If thats the wheels, those are impessive numbers. If thats flywheel not so much.

That's what I was saying.. somewhere between 460-480 flywheel HP and the torque was closer to 390-410. So did Ford underrate the numbers? Guess we'll need more dyno pulls.

InsideLine's dyno numbers are very high. They had a 2011 GT at 395 HP. When the average dyno may show 365 HP for a GT, then the Boss is more likely around 385 HP.

Is that with the standard key or RED key? Open of closed exhaust dumps? That's what I want to know

Red key doesn't add power, according to Ford. Just changes the tune to that of a Boss 302R race car.

But you'd think that might offer some more power....

Ford told all the journalists last week that it hits 444. Am I missing something?

Here's the link to the Insideline's actual pull:

Wow that is a lot smoother. Looks like i need to buy some boss parts if available. Id like to see a custom tuned 5.0 layed over that to. Just to see if it smooths out any. The GT looks very rough on its curves.

I think 440 is the rated crank hp. But by these graphs/dyno its saying they are making much more than that since its 416 at the wheels.

That's what Ford "says" but, if you change the tune you add more power.

After finding out that the BOSS only runs a 12.7 ET at the strip. I would rather have a GT with a good tune and a set of sticky tires. Just not enough car for the money and the graphics are just awful.

same here.

the red wheels and the graphics make the car look dumb. they shoulda just put the old school boss stripes back on it. and a shaker hood

why would anyone want red wheels on a car? especially a boss? we're not subaru drivers who paint their wheels pink.

Well if you don't like what the Boss ran at the strip understand it's a track car and will always be a track car. It's not designed for the 1/4 mile. If you're disappointed in it, the 5.0 with mods will be much faster down the strip. It'd be a way better investment if that's your goal. If your goal is to track the car, the Boss won't be beat.

Hope I didn't come across as negative.
