The boss intake itself is legal. However if you install it on your 2012 GT you will need an aftermarket tune to make the car run properly. The aftermarket tune might be a problem. Check with the supplier of the tune if it's California legal. If you contact FRPP they might be able to make a suggestion as far as a tune. I know as of now FRPP doesn't supply a tune for the boss intake.
