Bought a NEW HOME, need ideas for the garage

Just as it says, its a three car garage with 10 foot cellings, already has custom shelving units installed. I want to have a great looking garage, we have 8 grand to spend on the garage upgrades and 17 for the house (we got some money back after refiancing).. let me know and post pics ! Thanks !

If anyone is wondering its in Northern california (Granite bay) 3 bedroom 2.5 bath, 19 Foot vaulted celling in each room, 2400 square foot inside and total is 4700 for the whol house, we paid 313,000 wich is a steal since its the most exspensive place to live in northern cali! Ill post pics once the storm has passed !

Congrats!

Make sure there are lots of outlets and lighting, and of course, internet access.

In our garage, we installed a wall to separate the working half of the garage, and the storage half.

hahahaha nice I already have the tools, air compressor, and tool box..years of working on cars you tend to get a nice collection ! Other than that A lift..??? Can that fit in a garage with only 10 foot cellings..??

Interent jack....hmmm didnt think of that. we have already put in a 37 inch LCD with some seriuos sound (cheap speakers we had lying around) Put ya lighting is a must thinking of just some industrial style lighting, alot of them thought !

Folsom Lake is 5 minutes from the house.... And a boat is nice but all my friends have them... I have the car toys the have the boats and snow toys !

Mr. big bucks, what do you do for a living, PR person for Britney or something? ha ha. Sounds like an awesome garage, bigger than my house. I would fill that puppy with cars and trucks. I often have wished that I could just mess with and restore vehicles all day long in a nice big garage, sounds like your on your way.

1) buying it

If you have the money it's no big deal, but when significant maintenance sneaks up, then it's not cool.

Know what BOAT stands for? Break Out Another Thousand. Because it's true, generally repairs and maintenance come in costs of a 1000.00 or better.

Add to that the fuel costs, slip fees, and prop repair that is guaranteed to be required at least twice a season and it adds up in a hurry. I have a 23ft Chaparral. Sweet boat, but it's got a 75 gallon fuel tank and with fuel costs where they are, I don't enjoy filling the thing to the tune of 250.00 - 300.00 bucks.

Boats are not a hobby, they are a lifestyle. I had heard it all the time for years, but being a wakeboard junky, didn't really buy into it until I owned one.. Now I understand why.

Even with all the outlay in cash, I wouldn't get out of it for anything. I enjoy the time on the water that much. Even when it's short and limited.

You can get a 4 post lift with no problem in there. The 2 post, you need a 12 foot ceiling. The only thing about the list is you won't be able to get a truck on it and raise it very far. With a 4 post lift, you also store another car under it.
