Bought an SVT Focus

I have an 03 focus zx3, I bought it for my DD commute to work car (52mi. a day) it gets like 34 mpg at best, and thats not as good as a 20+ yr old 1980 honda.
But I wanted to buy american, it will be the last new car I ever buy. I don`t like FWD and detroit thinks that is what people want, well not me its too hard to work on that junk.
Enjoy your car till you have to repair it.

So, because he wants a car that's economical, reliable, easily insured, fun to drive, comfortably seats 5 plus plenty of room for luggage to make his daily commute, he is labeled a ricer? If you are so pro-American, you should support the American steel that is competing with the Japanese cars, rather than putting it down.

Have you ever heard the phrase "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all"? I'm sure when the OP created this thread, he was not looking for people to come in here and talk down his new purchase.

I think it would be a decent DD, and I almost bought one myself before I picked up my Fusion.

1993 Ford Mustang Cobra
0-60 mph in 5.6 seconds
1/4 mile: 14.3 seconds @ 98 mph

Yep, the Vette is FASTER then ANY stock Fox Stang.

My 99 FRC would absolutly kill your 85 yet my Cobra could kill my FRC in any category.
Dude, Vetts are kick ass but they are not gods daily driver.

wow, are you 16 years old or just a moron? you sound like a complete idiot... so, by your logic, nearly everyone on this site is a "ricer" who has a four door car with 4 cylinders?

these "econoboxes" you're talking about are what facilitate the entire car hobby... smaller commuter cars and DDs are what help real car guys have their weekend toys that they would otherwise have to sell due to gas prices and reliability issues... the last time i checked, having an "econobox" sure does help when you're saving for high-priced aftermarket go-fast parts for the toy

I thought the SVT focus was a 2-door model?? When did they make them in 4-door??

I know die hard Corvette fans that love all Corvettes... minus the C4. The position of the e-brake handle alone kills it for me.

They offered the four door in '03-'04.

Congrats on the svtf. I had one myself and loved it best handling car I have owned or drove. I don't mean to get off subject here but everyone else has. But who has seen a stock foxbody mustang around here, and how many stock vetts do you see??? Anyway best bang for the buck foxbody beats the c-4 vett

Actuall when I looked for specs I searched many web sites and choose the fastest numbers so they compare better. I did find tests where the Vette did 0-60 in 6.3 seconds and ran the quarter in 14.7@91 MPH so it boils down to the driver. You also said "FASTEST" not "QUICKEST". The Fox was a couple miles per hour faster then the older C4 as well. The C4 didnt get fast till the LT1 ... well besides the ZR1 anyway. And I have had two C4s. A base 94 and a LT4 96 model. Nice cars, worst car ever to get in and out of though.

Now I should have the Cobra back next week so if you wana bring down your dads Porsche we will run them and I bet after 20 MPH you wont gain any more ground and by 70 I will be passing you. BTW, I will be running a new tune so I will have 495-510 rwhp
I know the cars are in different calsses and WAY different price points but my 6 year old beater will run hard. IDK what the specs are on the Porsche but with the AWD you should have me through first gear.
