I just installed the bullitt front brake kit on my 99 GT (stock wheels). I know the GT spare tire won't fit on the front now because of the bigger brakes. A lot of places recommend buying the cobra spare... and I know I could just put the spare on the rear and move a rear wheel to the front. But I was wondering if anyone ever used wheel spacers to push the spare out a little on the front. I thought you could probably get away with the cheap Mr. Gasket type spacers because it's only for the spare tire... not like you're going to drive it that far or fast.

Thanks.

I got my Cobra spare from a salvage yard $175 shipped. I wouldn't do the spacer thing. Could be unsafe. Why tamper with your personal safety or chance F'kin' up your Stang. Also, the GT spare is 15" Cobra is 17". I don't think the 15" wheel will clear the 13" brakes.

Good post,

I'm going to be upgrading to the Bullitt brake set as well and didn't even think about the spare not fitting.

I found mine on ebay for around $120. Keep looking. Never thought about a spacer? I would be more of a hassle to install while you're in the side of a road though.
