Hi Guys -Butch here -I have pulled a 302 out of a junked stang and put it in my 48 ford panel. swapped the 2 bbl int & carb with a matching edelbrock carb & man. Now I want to swap the heads.Installing a set of gt40,s that have 202/160 valves. any thoughts on the uptake in hp. I heard the engine run before it was pulled no rattles or pings.. any comments would be appreciated

I'd say 20-25 horse gain, depending, when you pull the heads show us the piston tops, that year may have low compression pistons and you'll have to be mindful of any cam changes with 2.02 valves.

You should check piston to valve clearance with the 2.02 valves. I put irongt40 heads with the 1.84 intakes on two 302s with no issues. Tried a set of AFR 185s on on one of the same short blocks and had interference. Otherwise a great head choice. Used stock bold down rockers, stock pushrods, ran to 6200 every time.
