Buy my next raidator. Well, not really... just suggest

Well, after getting everything sorted out on the car, I notice that the radiator is leaking. Its the original radiator, so I'm not too surprised. My only dilemma is which new radiator to buy. I have a mild 289, and the stock radiator cooled it just fine with a shroud and 4 blade fan.

Fleabay aluminum radiators are 170 with warranty
Rockauto/autozone OEM style radiators are 140-150

Does anyone with an ebay radiator have any input?

All of the ebay aluminums are either 1 or 2 core. The cheaper ones being 1 core, with a 2 core running about 20 dollars more.

I bought a cheap direct fit 2-core radiator en ebay, quality looks good and it has worked great for the last 2 years

Working on a poor college students income, I wish I could. I am limited to less than 200, I just wanted to see if the ebay direct fits were any good, worth 10-20 more than an OEM style replacement.

The website seems to be down to me

In that case a stock brass 3-row would be more than enough, even a 2-row if you can find one. Aluminum is mostly for weight, not extra capacity, and of course they really look swell at cruise night.

I bought an ebay 2 row aluminum w/ trans cooler for about 225 to my door. I had to have the cheap plastic drain plug welded up but it works great now. Bolted right in and fan shroud fit fine.

Four row brass bolted up to stock location in my 67 coupe. No shroud required.

$199 from Mustang Steve
I bought an aluminum radiator from Mustang Steve for our 66. I did his conversion to upgrade the size to 20" (17" is standard). The old 3 row brass ran in the upper end of the temp scale and the 20 inch aluminum unit never gets more than 1/3 on the temp scale.
Really nice quality and welds. Sure beats the 1-800-radiator (POS!!!) that leaked after 2 weeks...

What do you do about the lower pipe that is off to the drivers side to make the hose fit?

I have the common set up with pipes both on the passenger side.
Engine to be installed 302.

couple years ago i bought aluminum rads form champion cooling on ebay for a motorcycle. they sell rads for all mustangs and the quality was incredible for the price. they used thick aluminum too. they were fully welded looked good.
i put them side by side next to friends fluidyne rads ( which were double the price) and they were near identical.
i would deff buy champion rads again. just my .02

Do you have a late model 302? If so, you need a conversion radiator that has the hose connections on opposite sides.

I have a Fluidyne like this that I got from Mustangs Unlimited.

I just bought a champion Radiator off of ebay from the seller radiator-aid and the quality looks to be great, especially for a $150 radiator. I haven't installed it yet though.

I am building up the engine and have a new Edelbrock water pump with fittings as the 289 has.
