During the American Revolution, the hated British employed many people to work for them, thereby supporting the local economy. That does not make it right, or the best thing for America. Today those people who sold out are remembered as traitors. There's a bit of difference between building trucks and war, but not really... this is just economic war. Go tell the head honchos at Ford and GM that they're not in an economic war with Toyota, that it's just friendly competition, see what they say.
Its very hard to find any vehicles that dont share parts with another Manufacturer, if you asked the head of GM about Toyota he would tell you that GM and Toyota Products are coming right off the same Assembly Line at the NUMMI Plant in CA and have been for many years.

oh well with everything said and done i bought the Toyota! so i guess time will tell if i made a good choice or not! besides i will only keep it 4 years and buy another new one! so if its not a good truck i will buy something different next time! but if it is a good truck i will definitely look at buying another one! ill let ya know in 4 years! LOL . my new truck is not a work truck or anything like that ! its for going to work and coming home! pulling the sleds and trailer and the camper in the summer! James
This is supposed to be a forum supporting Mustangs, Fords and domestic cars in general. I can't for the life of me figure out why so many are leaping to Toyota's defense when they are the mortal enemy of Ford and GM. How old are you ? and have you ever worked in a union shop? i have ! its not that they dont allow a union! no one can say a union is not allowed! it is a vote put to the workers! the workers keep the union out ! why you ask ? because they pay them as much as or more than a union shop! my brother in law works at Toyota and they pay him almost 30$/hr! there for.. there is no need for a union! why pay union dues if you dont need to? my union dues are somewhere in the range of around 100$ a month or over that depending on how much overtime i work! i know this for a fact i am a member of the C.A.W!! you could work at McDonald's and if a union comes there and tries to organize the workers and they have a vote and its the majority that want a union then there will be one! the company can say no all they want but if its put to a vote and the workers want one they will get one! for for you to say that they dont allow a union and that , that is B.S you should know what your talking about before spilling your verbal diarrhea!a main reeson i dont by foreign vehicles like nissan toyota or honda, is that even though they may be built in america they dont allow unions in their factories. i think it is total bs. also if japan allow american cars for sale in japan then maybe i would also consider purchase of one.
I still say stick to F-150. ive seen the crash testing. The chassis bent on the ram and tundra. on the f-150, it stayed perfectly stiff. I was honestly impressed. Check it out for yourself on youtube. i cant give the link, im in school and they have stupid block things.

Ford had more models at the top of JD Powers last summer than Toyota. There was a new article last week that says Ford is "second to none" in quality."When the domestics start acting like they want my business, I'll consider them." Until that time, Toyota has proved itself to me, and I'll stay with them until they give me a reason not to.

Have you driven a NEW Ford lately? Not just spun an F-150 around the block with a salesman chattering in your ear?
So, every brand has their lemons.
My current Mustang is at 128,500 miles. I commute in heavy traffic, drive it like I stole it, take it to the track, drive it hard and put it away wet, and it still purrs like a new car. If Toyota can beat that, I'd like to see how.
